Databricks Solutions Architect (Job Posting)
Job Description:
We are seeking a Databricks Solutions Architect who combines deep technical expertise with excellent communication skills and business acumen. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers, leading the design and implementation of scalable solutions on the Databricks platform. Your mission will be to evangelize Databricks, support sales efforts, and create compelling technical content that drives adoption and showcases the platform's value.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-sales Engineering & Solutioning
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs and translate them into scalable Databricks solutions.
- Deliver compelling demos, proof-of-concepts, and technical workshops.
- Build architectural diagrams and pitch decks tailored to customer pain points.
Thought Leadership & Content Creation
- Create and publish technical blog posts, solution guides, notebooks, and reusable assets that highlight best practices with Databricks.
- Represent the company at events, meetups, and webinars with engaging presentations and demos.
- Work with marketing to translate technical capabilities into clear value propositions.
Customer Enablement
- Guide clients through implementation plans, data architecture strategies, and migration roadmaps.
- Serve as the technical liaison between customer engineering teams and Databricks solutions.
- Contribute to post-sales success by ensuring alignment with best practices.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, or cloud data platforms.
- Solid understanding of data engineering, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, MLflow, and related technologies.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data pipeline orchestration (e.g., Airflow, dbt, etc.).
- Experience designing architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, security, and cost optimization in modern data stacks.
Soft Skills & Business Acumen
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to simplify complex concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Confident in leading customer workshops, executive briefings, and technical sales cycles.
- Creative thinker with a passion for education, enablement, and evangelism.
Nice to Have
- Databricks certifications (e.g., Data Engineer Associate/Professional).
- Prior experience in a consulting, pre-sales, or developer relations role.
- Content portfolio (GitHub, blog, conference talks) showcasing public work
