We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to turn complex, often poorly defined business problems into production-ready AI solutions at Qubika.

This is a highly client-facing, hands-on role that sits at the intersection of AI engineering, software architecture, product thinking, and business value. You'll work directly with clients to understand their workflows and challenges, define the right solution, build it on their real systems and constraints, and take it through evaluation, deployment, and continuous improvement.

As a platform-agnostic FDE, you'll work across technologies and cloud environments, applying strong AI engineering and software development fundamentals rather than being tied to a specific vendor stack.

What we expect from you

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping production software.
• Previous client-facing experience, with the ability to lead technical conversations, challenge assumptions, and communicate trade-offs with stakeholders.
• Strong full-stack development skills, with the ability to work across backend, frontend, and data. Strong experience with Python and/or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including deploying and operating applications in cloud environments.
• Strong experience in AI engineering, including LLM applications and agentic systems in production.
• Hands-on experience with concepts such as LLM orchestration, tool use, MCP, RAG, prompt and context engineering, and AI evaluation.
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent frameworks.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, with the ability to determine where AI adds value and where traditional approaches are more appropriate.
• Strong product sense, with the ability to shape ambiguous requirements rather than simply implement predefined solutions.
• English at B2 level or above, with confidence communicating directly with clients.
• Real-world experience in at least one industry or business domain, allowing you to understand workflows, constraints, risks, and business drivers.
• Comfortable working with incomplete or ambiguous information and willing to challenge assumptions when the initial brief is not the right problem to solve.

Nice to have

• Partner certification or experience with Databricks, Google Cloud, or Anthropic.
• Experience working in regulated environments, such as financial services or healthcare.
• Knowledge of compliance, security, and non-functional requirements for AI systems.
• Experience with MLOps/LLMOps, observability, and AI cost/performance optimization.
• Data platform experience, including lakehouse architectures, ETL, and data governance.
• Experience building internal tools, accelerators, reusable AI components, or engineering patterns adopted by other teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct stakeholder interviews and discovery sessions to understand business workflows, challenges, constraints, and opportunities.
• Assess current and future states and identify which workflows are worth transforming through AI.
• Design and build production-grade AI solutions integrated with existing APIs, systems, legacy platforms, and data pipelines.
• Define and implement evaluation strategies to validate AI and agentic systems before production.
• Deploy AI solutions into live environments and progressively increase autonomy through appropriate guardrails and controls.
• Monitor production systems, identify issues, and continuously improve reliability, performance, and business outcomes.
• Work directly with client stakeholders throughout solution definition, design, implementation, and handover.
• Collaborate within an Agentic Pod alongside senior engineers and specialists across QA, Data, MLOps/SRE, Cybersecurity, and Machine Learning.
• Create reusable assets such as agents, skills, patterns, guardrails, and accelerators that can be leveraged across future engagements.
• Share knowledge and contribute to Qubika's AI engineering practices, standards, and internal capabilities.
